Your Freelance BFF (“YFBFF,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates yourfreelancebff.com, community.yourfreelancebff.com, and gigbff.yourfreelancebff.com. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it.
We are based between Lagos, Nigeria and Barcelona, Spain, and we serve members across Nigeria and internationally. This policy is written to meet the standards of Nigeria’s Data Protection Act (NDPR) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), whichever applies to you based on your location.
1. What we collect
Account and membership data: name, email address, and password when you register on the main site or the community platform.
Payment data: transaction amount, date, product purchased, and billing details. We never store your full card number. Payments are processed directly by Paystack (for NGN transactions) and Stripe (for international transactions), and both are PCI DSS compliant.
Community and coaching data: posts, messages, and activity within the community platform, your Sparks balance, curriculum progress, and any coaching call bookings.
GigBFF data: job posting text you submit for analysis, proposal drafts generated on your behalf, and your usage history within the tool.
Free resource and quiz data: your email address and your result from the Skills Audit Quiz, stored as a skill match.
Technical data: IP address, browser type, and basic site usage collected through standard website analytics and cookies.
2. Why we collect it
We use your data to create and manage your account, process payments, deliver the coaching and curriculum content you’ve paid for, generate GigBFF analyses and proposals, send you newsletter and product emails you’ve opted into, and improve the site and our tools.
3. Who we share it with
We share data with the following third parties, each for a specific purpose:
Paystack and Stripe process your payment. They receive your billing and transaction details directly, we do not see or store your card number.
Supabase is our backend database provider for the community platform and GigBFF. It stores your account, membership status, Sparks balance, community activity, and GigBFF analysis history.
Anthropic provides the AI models behind GigBFF. When you submit a job posting or request a proposal, that text is sent to Anthropic’s API for processing. Analyses and proposals are then stored in your account for your reference.
Kit (ConvertKit) is our email platform. If you subscribe to our newsletter or complete the Skills Audit Quiz, your email address and quiz result are stored with Kit.
Cal.com is our scheduling platform. If you book a coaching call, your name, email, and appointment time are shared with Cal.com to manage the booking.
We do not sell your personal data to anyone.
4. How long we keep it
We keep your account and membership data for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your membership or delete your account, we retain transaction records only as long as required for tax and accounting purposes, and we delete other personal data within a reasonable period after your request.
5. Your rights
Wherever you’re located, you have the right to ask us what data we hold about you, to correct inaccurate data, to request deletion of your data, to receive a copy of your data in a portable format, and to object to how we use your data. 6. Cookies
Our main website uses cookies to run the shop, remember your session, and understand site traffic. You can manage cookie preferences through the consent banner when you first visit the site.
7. International data transfers
Because our team and our service providers operate across Nigeria, the EU, and the US, your data may be transferred and stored outside your home country. We work with providers who maintain appropriate safeguards for these transfers.
8. Children’s privacy
Your Freelance BFF is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our tools and services evolve. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
